It occured to me... Escape 3... Playstation 3... They've followed pretty similar evolutions...

Playstation: Highly controversial after Sony split from Nintendo and made the Playstation rather than the SNES2 or whatever it may have been called, took the games industry by storm...
Escape: Highly controversial because it was so similar to k_thegame (supposedly), took the Sven community by storm and became amazingly popular, though...

PSOne: Smaller, lighter package, addresses some issues of the Playstation (big, ugly, parallel port that was never used), slimmed down and improved (lower power consumption etc.)
Escape1-series (newest version): Slimmed down (much less music), smaller, lighter package, major issues and bugs all addressed...

Playstation 2: Highly anticipated after the success of the Playstation, much better in most ways (faster, unique (all Sony design) etc.) and well accepted into the community that the Playstation had built, yet still had all the important bits from the original...
Escape 2: Highly anticipated after the success of Escape, longer, better, different (all Incy247 design), well accepted into the Sven community that Escape had built and still had all the important elements...

Playstation 2 slimline: Fixes most of the original issues with the Playstation 2, comes in a smaller package and is equally loved by the community...
Escape2-series (newest version): Slimmed down (music), all major bugs squashed, better etc.

Playstation 3: Initially highly anticipated, delayed, several issues with development, mocked by the games industry...
Escape 3: Delayed, several issues with development (real life distractions tongue.gif) mocked by the Sven community? Well, no, highly anticipated, yes.

In summary: Don't release the Playstation 3! ... Or something like that... huh.gif

Well I've got a server up at the moment that'll allow your players to download escape_a_final and escape_b_final at their maximum download speed(well near enough).

To get access to it just start your server in the usual way then enter the command:

sv_downloadurl "http://www.randoanimals.com/maps"

Exactly as above^

This will enable http downloading and it will be a heck of a lot faster than the normal download from the server. If it doesn't work... it's because I've taken the maps down smile.gif

Enjoy it while it lasts.

I'd like to play test, you've read my review of Escape1 which should show how I can review things, I've joined the forum and completed Escape1 three times and played it a few more(but only three times start to finish), you've played with me so you can sort of see what sort of person I am and I'd be able to test anything almost every day.

I'd love to be able to play test after playing the original and, as a mapper myself, I can spot some potential problems from experience so it'd be a great opportunity to help out. I've had a lot of experience with half-life and many mods and I run my own server a lot so I know what maps work well etc.

Anyway thanks for reading, I gotta get to bed :dizzy:

Of all the maps I've played in Sven Co-op, this has to be one of the best. The attention to detail is exceptional. The whole adventure is just full of new ideas. I have never seen anything like the intro sequence with the scientist and the music which fits so well with the theme of the maps. After leaving the "waiting room"(where people wait for anyone else to connect after a map change etc) and seeing the intro you are dumped into the dungeon which has that "this is a place i don't want to be" feel to it.

The boss battles are great fun, when you're weaving in and out of the quickly disappearing boxes as they're destroyed by you, your friends or your foe and leaving you open to more and more attack. Another great feature i have seen too few times in maps is the "This is what you did" camera sequenes showing the effects of buttons and your new objectives, as well as introducing monsters you've unleashed. The music is also a nice touch which makes the map feel even less half-life like and more fun as its a whole new experience.

The maps also need a lot of teamwork as its essential, more so in the first when you make your initial escape but still you need a few people working together to accomplish goals and wipe out the enemy in the second map. The amount of weapons as well as the secret weapons are plenty to get you most of the way through the map.

Visually both maps are really well done too, I didnt encounter a single, noticeable, misaligned texture or hole anywhere and the light levels are really nice and give the map the right atmosphere at the right times.

Conclusion: This is a really great map series made by a really skilled mapper, I just hope to see the next one soon!

Graphics: 10/10

Gameplay: 9.5/10

Audio: 9/10

Replayability: 9/10

Overall: 9.4/10

Thanks for reading
